This is the video I have recorded last year. It was the tour from Eibsee which is absolutely advanced and dangerous:
This is a beautiful video of this year’s trip taken from the internet: This year’s tour is advanced due to the 2064 m of ascent but not so dangerous if you take the cable car at Sonnalpin like you can see in the video below! Aproaching Gatterl might be a bit chalanging but is secured with metal cables as you can also see in the video.
Event description Saturday:
We will meet at Naturcampingpark Isarhorn on Friday evening and spend the night there. On Saturday we will drive to Ehrwald Almbahn Station and start the hike from there. Please be aware that we will be on the south side which means intense sunlight! Protect yourself! We will pass by Ganghofer Hütte, Tirolerhaus, Berggasthof Ehrwalder Alm, Pestkapelle. We will cross the border to Austria at Gatterl passing through a gate and head on to Knorrhütte where we could have lunch if we didn’t have a stop before due to hunger. Towards the end of the hike we will have to cross scree fields which might be exhausing. Who wouldn’t like to do so can take the cable car to the top at Sonnalpin in order to avoid the most difficult part. From the top we will take the cablecar back to Ehrwald Almbahn station. The last cablecar is at 16:40 so we need to be up there till then!
Length: 14 km
Ascent: 2064 m
Descent: 229 m
Max altitude: 2579 m
Min altitude: 1109 m
Event Descripiton Sunday:
This is the video from last year’s event:
Partnach Gorge to Wetterstein
We will pack our stuff and leave the camping site and head to the Partnach Gorge. All our stuff will stay in the car. After the hike we will head back to Heidelberg.
Length: 11,5 km
Ascent: 509 m
Descent: 509 m
Max altitude: 1144 m
Min altitude: 702 m
A fascinating and varied hike awaits you. The impressive natural spectacle of the Partnach Gorge turns this walk into an unforgettable experience.
This varied trail takes you through meadows and thick deciduous forest, and leads you past spectacular waterfalls and pools in the Partnach Gorge. After a steep hike up to the Partnachalm the valley opens up to fantastic views of the Wetterstein mountains. Just before reaching the pond at the Kochelberg Alm (Alpine hut) the route passes a dormant sulphur spring on the left hand side, which you will recognise by the piled and stacked stones which are covered with a pretty layer of moss. If you breathe in deeply you’ll smell the intense odour of sulphur emitted from the water, which for this reason is not suitable for drinking.
I offer 4 seats in my car from Heidelberg and along the way to Garmisch. 35 euros per person. This includes all transport. Please get in touch with me with your phone number. +491624533588
What to bring:
Be aware that these events have a structure. At the beginning of the event we all have the opportunity to introduce ourselves and get to know each other using different kinds of techniques. Also at the end of the event there is the possibility to share our experience with the other participants and give suggestions and a feedback. This is optional and you can chose not to participate.
